Treatment of periodontitis

1. For local irritation: supragingival scaling or subgingival scraping can be used to adjust the occlusion, eliminate food impaction and correct bad restorations if necessary; 2. Treatment of periodontal pockets: when the periodontal pockets overflow with pus, 1 to 3% peroxide hydrogen solution can be used to rinse, and 10% iodine compound or spiramycin, methotrexate and other medicinal films are built into the pockets. After removing local factors, shallow pockets can be cauterized with iodophenol solution. Deeper pockets require periodontal surgery to eliminate periodontitis. Periodontal pockets can be considered for extraction when the pocket is deep to the root tip and the tooth is loose; 3. Loose tooth fixation: After the above treatment, although the inflammation has been eliminated, but the tooth is still loose, a temporary or permanent periodontal splint can be made to fix the loose tooth; 4. Treatment of periodontal abscess: When the abscess has been limited, it can be incised and drained. Periodontal pockets should also be rinsed, coated with medicinal film or iodine glycerin at the same time.
