Does snoring surgery hurt?

Snoring can be significantly painful after surgery if done. If the snoring is simple and not accompanied by breath-holding as well as apnea, it can be left untreated. If there is breath-holding and apnea, it is recommended to do respiratory sleep monitoring to see the degree of oxygen deprivation and apnea. If there is narrowing of the pharyngeal cavity, surgical treatment may be considered. The main surgical procedure is palatopharyngoplasty or mandibular advancement, and the postoperative pain will be obvious, usually for about seven days, with the pain decreasing day by day, but there will be discomfort in the pharynx and obvious pain when swallowing, and it is recommended to apply rehydration and anti-inflammatory, anti-swelling and pain-relieving drugs.
