How many months on crutches for both broken legs

Fractures of both legs need about 2~6 months to walk on crutches; the specific time also depends on which part of the leg is fractured, the different parts of the healing time is not the same.

If it is a fracture of the proximal femur and the distal femur near the knee joint, the healing will be faster; because this part of the blood flow is richer, so the healing ability is better; in about 8 weeks can form a bone scab, you can walk on crutches.

If it is a fracture of the femoral stem, then the healing will be slower and it may take 4~5 months for the bone scab to form before you can walk on crutches.

In the case of femoral neck fracture, the recovery time will be even slower; femoral neck fracture needs to use hollow nail for internal fixation, and the healing time can reach 6~8 months before you can walk on crutches.

If you feel unwell, you should go to the hospital in time and consult your physician.
