There are many reasons for weak calves, usually due to overwork, lumbar disc herniation, calcium deficiency or knee arthritis.
1. Overexertion: After overwork or strenuous exercise, the leg muscles will accumulate too much lactic acid, which will lead to weak calves.
2. Herniated lumbar discs: Herniated lumbar discs cause weakness in the calves because the protruding intervertebral vertebrae press on the innervated areas of the nerves, thus causing the symptoms to appear.
3. Calcium deficiency: when the body lacks calcium, or when trace elements and nutrients fail to meet the body’s needs, the legs will become weak.
4. Knee osteoarthritis: when the knee joint is stimulated by inflammation, it will lead to local symptoms, such as lower limb weakness, tenderness, acidity and lack of strength.
Calf weakness can also be seen in other causes, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, to clarify the cause of the disease, and then follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
