Survival time of advanced liver cancer cannot be determined, and liver cancer combined with ascites is often in advanced stage, and some researches claim that the 1-year survival rate of advanced liver cancer is only about 20%. Liver cancer mostly refers to primary liver cancer, which is one of the common digestive system tumors in China and one of the malignant tumors with the highest mortality rate. For patients with ascites of liver cancer, the cause of ascites needs to be clarified, which is mainly seen in cirrhosis, hypoproteinemia, malignant ascites and so on. Ascites caused by cirrhosis and hypoproteinemia can be controlled by active treatment, which has relatively little effect on prognosis. Malignant ascites, on the other hand, often indicates that the patient is already in advanced stage, and the patient’s condition is usually more serious, which can be combined with obvious anemia, hypoproteinemia, malignant ascites, progressive decline of liver function, etc., and there are usually metastasis, such as intrahepatic metastasis, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, etc.; in addition, some patients can develop spontaneous peritonitis, which induces hepatic encephalopathy and so on. Cancer prognosis is generally assessed by survival rate, and liver cancer prognosis is related to disease progression (e.g., stage, etc.), therapeutic program, patient’s basic condition, etc. The prognosis of advanced liver cancer is generally poor. Some domestic studies claim that the 1-year survival rate of advanced liver cancer is only about 20%, but there is no recognized definite conclusion yet. It is recommended that patients diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma combined with ascites should go to regular hospitals to evaluate their conditions and follow the doctor’s instructions to cooperate with the treatment, so as to control the progression of the disease and improve the prognosis of the patients.
