Whether progesterone works to induce or delay menstruation

Progesterone works either to induce or delay menstruation and needs to be taken under medical supervision to achieve its purpose.

Progesterone is a natural steroid hormone secreted by the ovaries, placenta, and adrenal glands. When sufficient estrogen is available, progesterone can cause the endometrium to change from a proliferative phase to a secretory phase.

If you want to delay your period, you can take a moderate amount of progesterone until the date you plan to have your period; if you need to bring your period forward, you can take progesterone some time before your normal period arrives, and your period will occur after you stop taking the medication.

Adverse reactions such as abdominal pain, perineal pain, headache, constipation, nausea, vomiting, and joint pain may occur after taking the medication and need to be discontinued promptly.

Do not use this product while breastfeeding. Not for use in children and the elderly. The medication should be taken under the supervision of a physician and should not be taken on its own.
