“Auntie” generally refers to a woman’s menstrual period. If a woman has regular periods, the period just after her period may be a safe period. However, if a woman has irregular periods and her period has just passed, it may not necessarily be a safe period.
Generally, the ovulation period of a woman with regular menstruation is 5 days before and 4 days after the 14 days before the next menstrual period, while the safe period refers to the time in a menstrual cycle that excludes the period of menstruation and the period of ovulation. Therefore, the period between the end of menstruation and ovulation is the safe period for women who have regular periods.
If a woman has irregular menstrual periods, it is not possible to accurately predict when a woman is ovulating, and therefore it is not possible to accurately determine the safe period for such women. If a woman ovulates irregularly, the safe period cannot be determined just after her period has ended.
Women who are not planning to get pregnant are advised to use contraception when having sex to prevent unwanted pregnancies that may affect their health.
