A good quality of life requires not only a smooth day and good food, but also a good night’s sleep. Occasional insomnia brief insomnia many people have experienced. Long-term insomnia is very painful. Different insomniacs have different reasons, which we will summarize and categorize into four categories: environmental factors, physical factors, food and drug factors and psychological factors. First, the appropriate environmental conditions is a prerequisite for good sleep. As you can imagine, it is difficult to sleep in the environment of wet and cold, uncomfortable bedding, dirty air and noise. Generally speaking, more than 70 decibels of sound will cause people to be alerted and unable to sleep. Also, many people just arrived in a new environment is easy to fall asleep. Jet lag can also disrupt the rhythm of the biological clock. Second, many physical diseases can lead to insomnia. Many of the symptoms included in somatic diseases, especially pain and itchy skin, can easily cause insomnia. At the same time, somatic diseases often impose a great psychological burden, financial burden and practical difficulties in life, all of which can affect falling asleep and sleep quality. What is even more noteworthy is that insomnia itself is one of the common symptoms of many mental illnesses, such as anxiety, depression, mania, schizophrenia, etc. Third, many drugs, including sleeping pills, can cause insomnia. For example, aminophylline and isoniazid have central nervous excitatory effects; large doses of hormones can cause excitement and talk a lot, irritability and insomnia. If you are careful, many sedative drugs have the word “excitement” or “irritability” or “insomnia” clearly written in the side effect descriptions in the instructions. If long-term use of sedative sleeping pills leads to dependence, it is more likely to cause insomnia as a withdrawal symptom. In addition, hunger or too full, drinking strong tea, coffee, Coca-Cola and other beverages can lead to insomnia. Fourth, psychological factors are the most common cause of insomnia. In depth, any insomnia has emotional factors at play. The pressure of work, study, life, interpersonal tension, stress caused by unexpected events can cause insomnia. Psychological factors can cause insomnia, and at the same time insomnia can provoke tension and anxiety, irritability and negative emotions, and these emotions will aggravate insomnia, which forms a vicious circle. Since there are so many causes of insomnia, there is no single treatment. The first step in treating insomnia is to analyze the cause. That’s the point of writing this blog post.
