Intestinal vascular embolism may be life-threatening. The formation of thrombus will lead to poor blood supply to the intestines, which may lead to intestinal perforation, heart failure, intestinal necrosis, intestinal ischemia and other symptoms.
1. Intestinal perforation: Intestinal vascular embolism can lead to partial necrosis of the intestinal tube and perforation, which in turn leads to the overflow of intestinal contents into the peritoneal cavity, and the patient suffers from severe abdominal pain, abdominal distension and other symptoms, and in severe cases, it can be life-threatening to the patient.
2. Heart failure: some patients will have the manifestations and signs of strangulated small bowel obstruction. During the onset of the disease, patients in the process of vomiting, diarrhea, and even accompanied by blood-like substances. If the symptoms are serious, shock may occur because of water and electrolyte disorders, and then coma and heart failure may occur, which may be life-threatening.
3. Intestinal necrosis: Once the important intestinal arteries are affected, the patient will be at risk of extensive intestinal necrosis. In serious cases, it will cause life-threatening to the patient.
4. Intestinal ischemia: due to mesenteric vascular embolism or thrombosis, the blood wall of the intestinal tube is obstructed, resulting in intestinal ischemia, loss of peristalsis, and excessive absorption of toxins in the intestines, which can also be life-threatening.
Patients with mesenteric vascular embolism should go to the hospital in time and cooperate with doctors for active treatment.
