How long does a 45 year old cerebral infarction patient live

How long a 45-year-old patient with a cerebral infarction will live depends on the severity of the neurologic impairment. If the patient’s NIHSS score is less than 7, the cerebral infarction will not have a significant impact on the patient’s life expectancy. As long as standardized treatment is adhered to, patients can survive normally for 30 or even 40 years or more. If the patient’s NIHSS score is more than 7, or even higher, it suggests that the condition is critical, and the survival period of most patients is around 3-5 years. Some extremely serious patients, such as basilar artery trunk occlusion leading to brainstem infarction and massive cerebral infarction, can hardly even survive longer than 7 days. These patients often suffer from coma, aphasia, gaze paralysis, complete paralysis, epileptic seizures, etc. Patients often die of cerebral edema and lung infections within a short period of time, and the prognosis is poor.
