How to Rehabilitate Shoulder Dislocation

Common functional exercises after shoulder dislocation mainly include joint mobility training and joint stability training. Once shoulder dislocation occurs, it should be reset as soon as possible under the guidance of professional doctors, and it should be clarified whether there is any fracture, vascular and nerve injury before resetting. After reset, fixation should be carried out according to the doctor’s instruction to promote the healing of the joint capsule, ligament, muscle and other tissues. Rehabilitation training is related to the patient’s recovery, and different training methods are used in different periods. 1. During the period of immobilization: patients can move their fingers and wrist joints, perform fist and finger extension exercises, wrist flexion and extension or encircling exercises, etc., and the shoulder joint can be passively lifted at less than 90°. 2. After the immobilization is lifted: patients can take the initiative to carry out shoulder joint mobility training, including anterior-posterior swinging movement of the shoulder joint, shoulder rotation movement, shoulder abduction, posterior extension, internal and external rotation exercises, and shoulder lifting exercises. Within 3 months after the immobilization is lifted, try to avoid picking up objects from high places, pulling back towels, throwing and other actions to avoid re-dislocation of the joint. It is recommended that the patient should consult a doctor in time and under the guidance of a professional doctor, do not blindly train on your own to avoid the adverse consequences.
