Pharyngitis in women can be categorized into acute pharyngitis and chronic pharyngitis, and the symptoms may vary from one type to another. Acute pharyngitis is characterized by a rapid onset, with dryness and burning in the pharynx at the onset. It is followed by pain and soreness during swallowing, which may be accompanied by fever, headache, loss of appetite and limb pain. It also affects the larynx with coughing and hoarseness. The main symptoms of chronic pharyngitis are pharyngeal discomfort, pharynx will be dry, itchy, secretion and burning pain, but also prone to dry vomiting and foreign body sensation. When patients eat irritating foods, fatigue and weather changes pharyngitis will be aggravated. It is mainly caused by the stimulation of factor secretions and hypertrophied lymphoid follicles, mostly stimulated by secretions from the mucous membrane growing on the posterior wall of the pharynx, and often occurs in the morning, with more frequent irritating coughs.
