How to give first aid for persistent asthma

The effects of persistent asthma on the circulatory system are mainly related to increased intrathoracic pressure and hyperinflation of the lungs. Asthma persistence is a severe asthma attack in which conventional treatment is ineffective, or is aggravated by reasonable application of sympathomimetic drugs and theophylline drugs, lasting generally more than 12h, which can occur until respiratory failure or even death. The first step is the need for oxygen as soon as possible, with a face mask or nasal cannula. Next, medication is needed, for example, beta agonists are the main first-line drugs, commonly used with Ventolin. Aminophylline is given intravenously: as an additional treatment option, it has the effect of stimulating the respiratory center, cardiotonic, diuretic, bronchodilator, coronary artery dilator and and respiratory muscle. Anticholinergic drugs: inhaled anticholinergics are slow to work, but have a diastolic effect due to inhibition of bronchial smooth muscle M receptors and relaxation of smooth muscle. Treatment with magnesium sulfate medication is a safe therapeutic drug and has a certain sedative effect. Systemic hormones: intravenous application of glucocorticoids, which play an anti-inflammatory role, can also diastolic bronchial smooth muscle. It is also important to correct dehydration, aggressive correction of acid-base imbalance and electrolyte disturbance. If the condition continues to deteriorate, mechanical ventilation can be used, which can improve CO2 expulsion and oxygen inhalation, prevent increased respiratory muscle fatigue, and remove sputum.
