Left central lymph node dissection is a surgery performed to remove metastatic cancer cells after lymph node metastasis occurs in the left side of thyroid cancer, which can reduce the chance of recurrence and help the prognosis. The left central lymph node is usually the first metastatic area of thyroid cancer, therefore, central lymph node dissection for thyroid cancer on the left side is helpful to reduce the chance of recurrence of thyroid cancer, avoiding missed metastatic tumors that are not resected and lead to the development of thyroid cancer, and contributing to the patient’s prognosis. For thyroid cancer, except for undifferentiated cancer, surgery is the basic treatment for the remaining types of thyroid cancer, and radionuclides and hormones can also be applied as adjuvant treatment.
