Lactational mastitis is an acute infectious disease of the breast caused by bacteria entering the mammary gland through the nipple on the basis of milk deposition. Clinically, it is characterized by breast lumps, poor milk elimination, and even localized redness, swelling, heat, and pain accompanied by fever and other systemic symptoms. According to the pathological changes and clinical manifestations, it is often divided into the period of milk stagnation, pus formation and ulceration. However, some patients with postpartum mastitis have a certain tissue reaction caused by simple milk stagnation, not all of which are caused by infection. Mastitis during breastfeeding has an acute onset, rapid transmission, and is highly susceptible to pus formation and ulceration, damaging the breast complex and affecting lactation and breastfeeding. Therefore, the treatment of acute mastitis in our department is based on the law of treating the disease before it occurs, adopting early diagnosis and early treatment. We use both internal and external treatment at the stage of milk stagnation, internal and external Chinese medicines with manual massage and breast drainage method to dredge the breast complex, eliminating and dispersing, this method is simple and easy to implement, not only reduces the incidence of acute mastitis, but also has the characteristics of light pain and quick results.
