How many years does the shingles vaccine last?

The shingles vaccine produces protection for no less than four years.
The herpes zoster vaccine, also known as recombinant herpes zoster vaccine, is produced by recombining a portion of the varicella zoster virus glycoprotein coding sequence into Chinese hamster ovary cells. The vaccine is suitable for elderly people to be vaccinated against herpes zoster and cannot be used to prevent primary chickenpox.
Current studies have shown that there is no significant decrease in immunity within four years after the full course of herpes zoster vaccination, so it is believed that the protective effect of the vaccine on humans is not less than four years.
The protective effect of the vaccine after four years and the need for a booster shot of the zoster vaccine after four years to stimulate the body to produce higher titers of antibodies are still under study. Vaccination should be given at a regular vaccination center.
