The co-existence of yang deficiency and yang depression should refer to the co-existence of yang deficiency and qi depression (qi is considered as yang in Chinese medicine). The co-existence of yang deficiency and qi depression may be due to the preference for cold and raw food, or living in a cold place for a long time, or having an uncomfortable emotional state.
Yang deficiency patients clinically manifested as fear of cold limbs cold, like hot drinks, urine long, thin stools, pale. The clinical manifestations of patients with qi depression are chest fullness (chest distension and discomfort), coercive pain (pain in the area of coercion and ribs), yelping (hiccups), abdominal distension, dizziness, and plumpness (stomach distension and discomfort). Patients with both Yang deficiency and Yang depression may experience the above symptoms at the same time.
