How to rehab a herniated lumbar disc that’s pressing on a nerve

Herniated lumbar intervertebral disc compresses the nerves, and the common clinical rehabilitation training methods include traction therapy, Chinese medicine rehabilitation, muscle strength training and so on.
1. Traction therapy: through pelvic traction, increase the width of the intervertebral space, reduce the internal pressure of the intervertebral disc, retract the herniated part of the intervertebral disc, and then reduce the irritation and compression of the nerves to alleviate the symptoms.
2. Rehabilitation through traditional Chinese medicine (TCM): Through massage, acupuncture and acupressure, etc., muscle spasms can be relieved and the pressure within the intervertebral disc can be reduced, thus effectively relieving the symptoms of low back pain.
3. Plyometric training: common training methods include air bicycle, flying swallow exercise, flat support, etc.
(1) Air bicycle: lie on your back, bend your legs upward, and imitate the action of pedaling a bicycle.
(2) Flying Swallow Exercise: prone position, head, both upper limbs, lower limbs as far back as possible, abdominal contact with the bed or cushion area as small as possible, in the shape of a flying swallow.
(3) Plate support: prone position, elbow flexion, small arms and forefeet supporting the ground, the body off the ground, ears, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles in a straight line, to maintain balance.
It is recommended that patients be treated under the guidance of a professional doctor, customize the training plan according to the specific situation, do not train blindly to avoid adverse consequences.
