Eczema is not contagious. Eczema is an inflammatory, allergic skin disease with clinical manifestations including pruritus, erythema, flaking, and clusters of papules, blisters, vesicles, and exudates, etc. The lesions are polymorphic in nature, and the disease is caused by many exogenous and endogenous factors acting alone or together. Exogenous factors include living environment, climatic conditions, sunlight, ultraviolet light, cold, heat and humidity, dryness, cosmetics, soap, dyes, artificial fibers, etc. Internal factors are the main cause related to heredity and can change with age and environment. Neuropsychiatric factors, such as anxiety, stress, insomnia, endocrine and metabolic disorders, and certain foods, can aggravate eczema.
