What is the role of interferon in the treatment of hand, foot and mouth disease

Interferon exerts its biological functions by enhancing the immune activity of the body’s cells and promoting the synthesis of antiviral proteins in vivo, inhibiting viral replication, regulating immune responses and cell growth and differentiation. 1.Inhibit viral entry into cells, inhibit translation of viral proteins and assembly of viral particles. 2.Activate macrophages and natural killer cells. 3.Increase the production of cytokines and regulate the synthesis of immunoglobulins. 4.By binding to interferon receptor, it further activates 2,5 oligomeric A synthase and protease, prevents transcription of viral proteins and inhibits viral proliferation.
