Manifestations of functional gastropathy



Functional gastropathy mainly includes functional dyspepsia and irritable bowel syndrome. Functional dyspepsia may be characterized by early satiety, fullness after meals, and abdominal pain; irritable bowel syndrome may be characterized by abdominal pain, changes in bowel habits and fecal character, and so on.

Functional dyspepsia can have recurrent or chronic gastrointestinal symptoms, but no organic lesions of the clinical syndrome; its main manifestations are early satiety, epigastric pain, postprandial fullness, nausea, vomiting, belching, epigastric with burning sensation, etc., but also can be accompanied by insomnia, depression and other psychiatric symptoms of different degrees.

Irritable bowel syndrome is a common functional bowel disease characterized by changes in bowel habits and abdominal pain, which can be manifested as abdominal pain, abdominal distension, changes in bowel habits and fecal characteristics, abdominal discomfort, etc., and can be accompanied by anxiety, depression and other psychosomatic abnormalities.
