The advantage of immunotherapy is mainly that it can enhance or inhibit the body’s immune function when the body’s immune function is low or high, so as to achieve the purpose of treating the disease. There are many types of immunotherapy, which can be divided into immune-enhancing therapy, immune-suppressing therapy; specific immunotherapy, non-specific immunotherapy, and so on. They have their own advantages, as follows. 1. Immuno-enhancing therapy: It is mainly used for the treatment of immunodeficiency, infection, tumor and other diseases with low immune function. Immunosuppressive therapy is mainly used to treat autoimmune diseases, hypersensitivity reactions, inflammation, transplant rejection and other hyperimmune diseases. 2. Specific immunotherapy, mainly including: vaccination, the advantage is to maintain the effect for a long time; infusion of specific immune response products, the advantage is that the onset of effect time is fast; the use of antibodies specifically oriented therapy, the advantage is to improve the efficacy and reduce the adverse effects of therapeutic drugs. Non-specific immunotherapy, on the other hand, focuses on extensive suppression or enhancement of the body’s immune function.
