Can abdominal ultrasound rule out intestinal tumors?

Abdominal ultrasound can not exclude intestinal tumors, ultrasound is mainly for the identification of substantial organs, such as thyroid, heart, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys and so on. Due to gas interference, it can’t make good imaging for solid or hollow organs with more gas content, especially the intestines not only have more gas, but also have a lot of intestinal contents, which can’t be recognized as normal tissues or lesions by color ultrasound under the interference of a large amount of gas. Colonoscopy is preferred for the examination of intestinal tumors. If lesions are found, tissue biopsy can be performed for pathological diagnosis, which can confirm or exclude the tumor. If there are contraindications to enteroscopy, barium intestinal contrast, abdominal CT enhancement and other measures can also be chosen, but only to check the appearance of the mass and the size and number of the mass, but not to diagnose the nature of the mass.
