Elderly woman in her seventies suffers from cancer like eczema

Wuhan Evening News, February 25, 2014: The newspaper (reporter Yu Le, correspondent Yuan Li Wan Weiwei) Hankow’s granny Yu is nearly old, six months ago found nipple, areola skin ulceration, when eczema treatment rubbed half a year of medicine, but the situation is getting worse, skin erosion, broken, repeatedly, and finally even the nipple is ulcerated inside-out. Recently, Ms. Yu came to the Wuhan Sixth Hospital to see a breast specialist, deputy chief physician Li Rong, after investigation, suspected that this is not eczema, but eczema-like cancer of the breast. The subsequent surgery to take a biopsy confirmed the judgment. Li Rong said that eczema-like carcinoma of the breast is a special type of breast cancer with low incidence, and the appearance of the disease is similar to that of eczema-like lesions of the breast, so the two diseases are easily confused. Clinically, therefore, missed and misdiagnosed cases are common, and delayed diagnosis is more common, patients usually experience about six months to two years from the appearance of symptoms to diagnosis. Li Rong reminded that for those with unexplained nipple erosion, those who do not improve with eczema treatment, or those who have lumps in the breast at the same time, the existence of eczema-like carcinoma of the nipple should often be considered, especially for middle-aged and elderly women who should be more alert.
