Is amblyopia 0.7 serious?

For children under the age of 6 with visual acuity of 0.7, it is a normal condition, and for children aged 6 and above with visual acuity of 0.7 it is below normal and is mild amblyopia, which is not very serious.
For children aged 3 to 5 years, visual acuity below 0.5 is considered abnormal, and for children aged 6 years and above, visual acuity below 0.7 is considered abnormal, so if a child under 6 years of age has visual acuity of 0.7, it is normal and not amblyopia.
If the child is older than 6 years old and has a visual acuity of 0.7, the amblyopia is mild, not too serious, but usually requires treatment. Patients can undergo conventional masking treatment, i.e., masking the dominant eye to stimulate the development of the amblyopic eye, thus improving vision. Patients can also cooperate with amblyopia training, such as tracing books, stringing beads and so on.
It is recommended that children with amblyopia should seek timely medical attention to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
