Does metronidazole cure sore throat

Sore throat is usually caused by pharyngitis or inflammation of the tonsils, and metronidazole is not particularly effective in treating these two inflammatory conditions. Because it is usually caused by various septic bacterial infections, it should be treated with penicillin, macrolide or cephalosporin antibiotics, such as roxithromycin, amoxicillin, cefixime and other drugs. Metronidazole is mainly used in clinical practice to treat anaerobic bacteria, trichomonas and amoebic protozoal infections. It is mainly used to treat infections of the abdominal cavity, digestive tract, female genital system, skin and soft tissues caused by infections of sensitive bacteria.
