There are many different causes of inflammation and swelling of lymph nodes, and what to do depends on what causes the inflammation of lymph nodes. Sometimes inflamed and swollen lymph nodes are self-limiting diseases that do not require additional special treatment and will slowly heal on their own after a good rest, such as swollen lymph nodes caused by some viral infections, which may not require additional treatment. Sometimes the inflammation and swelling of lymph nodes are caused by bacterial infections, which require timely treatment with antibacterial drugs, i.e. antibiotics. In other cases, the inflammation and swelling of the lymph nodes are more serious and the local septic lesions are obvious, so in addition to medication, surgery may even be required.
