Causes of coughing up blood after gastrectomy

The causes of hemoptysis after gastrectomy surgery are mainly seen in two clinical situations: 1, the more common, for a small amount of hemoptysis, hemosiderin sputum, the main reason for the occurrence of gastric tube and tracheal intubation damage to the laryngeal mucous membrane caused by the need for special treatment, 2-3 days after the laryngeal mucous membrane to be restored, coughing up blood naturally disappeared; 2, need to be highly vigilant for the emergence of a large amount of coughing up blood, coughing up the amount of blood over 50ml or more, the main consideration is anastomotic bleeding. If the amount of coughing blood is more than 50ml, the main consideration is anastomotic hemorrhage, then we need to stop the bleeding and other symptomatic treatment in time. Especially after the gastric resection surgery, once the anastomosis bleeding occurs, even if the bleeding stops in the later stage, we should be highly alert to the possibility of anastomotic fistula.
