High thyroid peroxidase antibodies are seen in two main areas: first, in normal people, a small percentage of normal people have high thyroid peroxidase antibodies. On the other hand, autoimmune thyroid disorders, including hypothyroidism, mainly chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, also known as Hashimoto’s disease, have high antibodies. There is also hyperthyroidism, such as Graves’ disease, which also has elevated antibodies. If a normal person has normal thyroid function, a simple high antibody level may not require treatment, and regular follow-up at an endocrine clinic is recommended.
