What’s with the earache and the sore throat?

Earache and sore throat may be caused by acute tonsillitis, acute pharyngitis, Fan Shang pharyngitis and other diseases.
1. Acute tonsillitis: this disease refers to the tonsils are infected by pathogenic microorganisms, mostly bacteria, viruses, rare in Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma pneumoniae and so on. It can be induced by factors such as lowering of temperature, stimulation of noxious gases, excessive smoking and drinking, and exertion, resulting in patients with sore throat, and the pain can be radiated to the ear through the auricular branch of the glossopharyngeal nerve.
2. Acute pharyngolaryngitis: pathogenic microbial infections, excessive use of voice, violent cough, allergic reactions, decreased immunity and other factors can cause acute inflammation of the mucosa and submucosa of the throat. Sore throat is a typical symptom of this disease. When the parapharyngeal tissues are involved, the inflammatory factor stimulates the vagus nerve to conduct to the tympanic branch, and the patient will have earache.
3. Fanshuang pharyngitis: subacute tonsillitis infected by Clostridium difficile and Fanshuang spirochete, which is characterized by obvious limited inflammatory reaction and ulcer formation. The infection may also involve the soft palate, pharyngeal wall, buccal mucosa, tongue or gums. The main symptom is sore throat, mostly unilateral, accompanied by headache, back and joint pain, but also nerve entrapment pain can occur and trigger the manifestation of earache.
It is recommended that patients with earache and sore throat go to the hospital to improve the relevant examination and clarify the cause of the disease.
