What is primary small liver cancer

Primary small hepatocellular carcinoma refers to primary hepatocellular carcinoma with a diameter of ≤5cm, or the sum of two hepatocellular carcinomas with a diameter of ≤5cm. Early stage of primary small hepatocellular carcinoma usually lacks typical clinical manifestations, and it needs to be clearly diagnosed and then treated by surgery.
1. Clinical manifestations: patients with hepatocellular carcinoma are mostly in their forties to fifties and mostly male. Early stage of liver cancer lacks typical clinical manifestations, while middle and late stage of liver cancer will show pain in liver area, fatigue and weight loss, and mass in right upper abdomen.
2. Diagnostic criteria: patients need to have a history of chronic hepatitis, and the value of alpha-fetoprotein is more than 400ng/ml, and the diagnosis can be made by imaging examination.
3. Treatment: Early hepatocellular carcinoma is usually treated with comprehensive treatment mainly by surgical resection. Partial hepatectomy can be performed for small hepatocellular carcinoma.
