The absence of cervical duct cells means that there are no cervical duct cells in the specimen examined, and that the cervical duct cells were not taken during the cervical sampling. Usually, the report will show the presence or absence of cervical duct cells only when a cervical tCT is done. The doctor uses a small brush to take cells from the cervix by rotating it about 15 times counterclockwise, so when the sample is taken, it is possible that the cells in the cervical canal are not taken and the tct shows no cervical canal cells, which is actually quite normal.
