Temporomandibular arthritis treatment methods include general treatment, drug treatment and surgery.
1. General treatment: pay attention to joint rest, try to eat fluffy and small pieces of food during treatment; avoid eating chewing gum; stretching exercise of jaw muscles can be carried out under doctor’s instruction; hot compresses can be applied with towels on the painful parts.
2. Medication: such as diclofenac sodium, etc., used to relieve the patient’s pain symptoms.
3. Surgical treatment: Surgical methods include arthrocentesis, intra-articular injection of drugs, arthroscopic surgery, modified condylar resection, arthroplasty and so on.

(5) Arthroplasty: Surgery to restore form and function to the joint.
