Optimal Treatment of Mitral Valve Closure Insufficiency

There is no absolute best treatment for mitral valve insufficiency, which is mostly treated by general treatment, medication and surgery.
1. General treatment: For patients who have been asymptomatic for a long time, they can be followed up for observation. Patients are advised to avoid strenuous exercise.
2. Drug therapy: Drugs can improve cardiac function and general condition. For acute mitral valve insufficiency, sodium nitroprusside and nitroglycerin can be used to reduce pulmonary venous pressure. For chronic mitral valve insufficiency, diuretics such as furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide can be used to expel excess water from the body.
3. Surgery: Surgery can be considered for symptomatic acute severe mitral valve insufficiency and severe mitral valve insufficiency with poor heart function.
Patients with mitral valve closure insufficiency are advised to go to the hospital in time for treatment, and medications are recommended to be used under the guidance of a doctor.
