Pharyngitis can be divided into acute pharyngitis and chronic pharyngitis. The symptoms of each type of pharyngitis are different, but all of them can have local symptoms such as pharyngeal discomfort, foreign body sensation, pain, etc. Acute pharyngitis can have systemic symptoms. 1. Acute pharyngitis: it can be divided into acute simple pharyngitis, acute necrotizing pharyngitis and acute edematous pharyngitis, the first one is the most common, the latter two are more rare but more dangerous. (1) Acute simple pharyngitis: the onset of the disease is relatively acute, with local symptoms such as dry and burning pharynx, sore throat, and pain radiating to the ear. There may be chills and high fever, headache, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, and other systemic symptoms are usually mild or absent. (2) Acute necrotizing pharyngitis: the onset of the disease is rapid, and moderate symptoms or respiratory failure can occur early, followed by pneumonia and sepsis symptoms. Patients with severe pharyngeal pain and difficulty in swallowing may have difficulty in opening the mouth. (3) Acute edematous pharyngitis: rapid onset, secondary to laryngeal angioneurotic edema, rapid edema of the pharyngeal mucosa, which leads to asphyxia. At first, it is a foreign body sensation in the pharynx, and then dysphagia and dyspnea may appear. 2. Chronic pharyngitis: systemic symptoms are not obvious, and there may be discomfort, foreign body sensation, itching, burning sensation and pain in the pharynx. If the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for early and regular treatment.
