Herbs that enter the lung meridian include ephedra, cinnamon sticks and perilla leaves. 1. Ephedra is used in the treatment of wind-cold flu, chest congestion, wheezing and coughing, and wind-water (sudden edema of the head, face and limbs) and edema. It should be used with caution in cases of superficial deficiency spontaneous sweating (frequent natural sweating due to weakness of the muscular surface), yin deficiency night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep and cessation of sweating after waking up), and lung and kidney deficiency and wheezing. Ephedrine has the effect of excitation of the central nervous system, so athletes should be cautious. 2. Gui Zhi, treating wind-cold and flu, phlegm (pathological product formed by impaired metabolism of water and fluid), palpitation. It is forbidden to take it for patients with fever and high temperature, and patients with Yin deficiency and fire exuberance. 3. Perilla leaf, treating wind-cold symptoms, cough and phlegm, chest and epigastric distension, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea, and malignant obstruction of pregnancy (in early pregnancy, there is heavy nausea and vomiting, dizziness and anorexia, or even vomiting after eating).
