Pheniracetam pills are a compound drug that is composed of four drugs: acetaminophen, aminopyrine, caffeine and chlorpheniramine maleate. It is mainly used to treat colds, fever, headache, neuralgia and rheumatic pain. Acetaminophen, also known as paracetamol, is classified as an antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug, like aminopyrine, and both will reduce fever and relieve pain. Chlorpheniramine maleate, also known as paracetamol, is an anti-allergy drug that can reduce the symptoms of runny nose, sneezing and nasal congestion that occur when a person has a cold. Caffeine is a brain stimulant that when combined can enhance the effect of acetaminophen and aminopyrine in treating headache, and can also counteract the adverse effects such as drowsiness that occurs with paracetamol, and can refresh and fight fatigue. As the side effects of aminopyrine contained in Pheniramine granules are relatively large and numerous, its use is not recommended, especially not for long-term use.
