According to the current blood pressure classification standards used in China, the normal range of blood pressure at the age of seventy is systolic blood pressure <120mmHg and diastolic blood pressure <80mmHg. Currently, China’s blood pressure classification standard is: normal blood pressure is <120/80mmHg; normal high blood pressure range of 120~139/80~89mmHg. This standard applies to adults of any age, therefore, the normal range of seventy-year-old blood pressure is <120/80mmHg. The specific classification of hypertension needs to be based on the level of elevated blood pressure, cardiovascular risk factors, target organ damage and other factors. However, the normal range of blood pressure as well as the diagnostic criteria for hypertension are defined on the basis of clinical and epidemiologic data and are applicable to adults of any age above 18 years. Specific treatment is subject to medical advice.
