There are four stages of hemorrhoids according to the severity of their symptoms. Stage I hemorrhoids, which only have blood in the stool with no prolapse symptoms. Stage II hemorrhoids have blood in the stool with prolapse symptoms, but they will retract on their own after the stool. Stage III hemorrhoids have blood in the stool with prolapse symptoms and do not retract on their own after the stool, but need to be held back in the anus by hand. Stage IV hemorrhoids have blood in the stool and the amount of blood in the stool is large, and the nucleus of the hemorrhoid is prolapsed outside the anus for a long time, even if you use your hand to hold it in, it will prolapse again within a short time. The first and second stages of hemorrhoids are generally recommended to be treated conservatively by medication, improving diet and lifestyle habits to control the symptoms, while the third and fourth stages of hemorrhoids are recommended to be treated surgically if the conservative treatment with medication is not effective.
