Male glans ulcers may be caused by glansitis and genital herpes.
1. Glans inflammation, most notably caused by Candida glans inflammation. This disease usually involves men with a long foreskin. The main symptoms include small pin-cap sized papules on the glans, as well as erythema, ulceration, and flaking. The main treatments include topical creams such as miconazole cream, and oral medications such as fluconazole.
2. Genital herpes can also occur, usually caused by the herpes simplex virus, and the triggers may be related to the individual’s decreased resistance. The main symptoms include blisters, vesicles, ulcers, etc. near the glans and coronal sulcus; a few patients may be accompanied by pain and itching. Treatment is mainly with drugs such as famciclovir and vasiclovir.
The specific causes need to be consulted with a regular doctor.
