Arthroscopic surgery of the meniscus usually requires 7 days of hospitalization: first, admission for examination and preoperative preparation takes 1 day, including routine preoperative blood tests, and cardiac, chest, and lower extremity vascular ultrasound, and clean skin preparation for the surgical site. Second, on the day of surgery, arthroscopic meniscus trimming or suturing is required, and anesthesia recovery and vital signs monitoring should be performed on the same day after surgery. Thirdly, 1-3 days after surgery, some patients may develop postoperative absorption fever, which is manifested as generalized fever, up to about 38℃, requiring symptomatic treatment with cooling, as well as postoperative ankle pump training and quadriceps contraction. Fourth, 3-7 days after surgery is the period of high incidence of infection. The surgical site should be closely observed, body temperature should be monitored, and blood tests such as routine blood tests should be repeated.
