Is it normal for a newborn to roll over?

Children can roll over normally only at four months of age. This time of turning is more formal, the child can turn from supine to prone sleep, in this case, the child belongs to a more complete turning. Some newborns are less complete, such as those who are able to gently sleep on their side while lying on their side. In this case this is a slight turning, not a complete turning. Therefore, most newborns can roll over because of improper parental observation and parents’ misunderstanding of the child’s ability to roll over. Therefore, normal newborns are not able to roll over and parents should observe carefully. If the child has a significant increase in muscle tone, it is important to suspect that the child has cerebral palsy. Because if the child has cerebral palsy, the muscle tension will be significantly increased and the child will have a slight rolling over. In this case, parents should promptly take the child to the neurology department of the children’s hospital for an examination.
