A breech fetus is generally unaffected if no complications occur after birth, but if complications arise, they can be life-threatening to the child in extreme cases. Breech position is a fetal position in which the buttocks are the first to enter the mother’s pelvis and is the most common type of abnormal fetal position. Partial breech can be corrected in different ways while the mother is pregnant. Breech birth may cause more serious complications. If there is premature rupture of membranes and difficulty in delivery, it may lead to serious complications such as premature birth, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, hypoxemia, metabolic acidosis, intracranial hemorrhage, neonatal pneumonia, fractures and even death. If there is no complication, the health condition of the fetus is no different from that of a normal fetus, so the mother and her family need not worry too much. If the fetus is in breech position, it is recommended to consult a doctor and take reasonable treatment.
