How to treat internal rotation of the hip joint

The onset of internal rotation of the hip joint can be due to congenital genetic factors or secondary causes. When a patient develops this condition, different treatments are used depending on the patient’s age and the degree of internal rotation of the hip joint. For example, infants and children with this condition can be treated conservatively. Traditional Chinese medicine techniques are used to correct the hip joint by local massage or electrical stimulation, and orthopedic braces need to be worn for fixation after correction. If the hip joint is internally rotated and the angle of internal rotation is large in adults, surgery can be considered after the conservative treatment is not satisfactory. The proximal femur can be osteotomized under epidural anesthesia, and internal fixation should be given during the operation. After the operation, the patient should be instructed to carry out functional activities of the hip joint as early as possible to avoid hip stiffness.
