Targeted drug therapy

Molecularly targeted tumor therapy (also known as biological missile) is one of the most important advances in tumor therapeutics in recent years. It is to design the corresponding therapeutic drugs at the cellular molecular level, targeting the well-defined oncogenic sites, and the drugs will specifically select the oncogenic sites to combine and act in the body, causing the specific death of tumor cells without affecting the normal tissue cells around the tumor. This drug has excellent molecular and cellular selectivity, which can efficiently and selectively kill tumor cells and reduce the damage to normal tissues, and not only has remarkable efficacy, but also has far less adverse effects than traditional chemotherapy and radiotherapy. At present, the tumors treated with molecular targeted drugs that have been clinically proven to be effective include: head and neck cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, malignant lymphoma, esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, kidney cancer, gastrointestinal mesenchymal tumor, and ovarian cancer. China Charity Federation, China Cancer Foundation, China Red Cross, China Association for the Promotion of Scientific Research and Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry and other organizations have carried out a number of targeted drug donation programs for low-income patients, including: breast cancer – Herceptin; lung cancer – Troche, Eryza, Kemena; advanced colorectal cancer – Avastin, Epiduo, gastrointestinal mesenchymal tumor – Gleevec, Sotan; liver cancer -Dodgemet; Kidney cancer-Dodgemet, Sotan.
