Does inflammation cause high fever?

The presence of inflammation does not necessarily lead to high fever. If the patient is not very infected or in the early stages of infection, the organism does not necessarily show clinical manifestations of fever. The local tissues of the body may show clinical manifestations of redness, swelling, heat and pain, while the tissues and organs of the body, such as the digestive system, may show clinical manifestations of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea. The central nervous system may present with dizziness, headache, nausea, and convulsions. The respiratory system can have respiratory symptoms such as coughing, coughing up sputum, sore throat, and runny nose. Therefore having inflammation does not necessarily lead to high fever; as the inflammation worsens the patient can have the possibility of fever.
