What causes toenails to grow into the flesh

Toenail growth into the flesh is most commonly caused by nail fungus, which is usually caused by accidentally damaging the soft tissues around the nail groove when cutting the nail, but not strictly disinfected, thus leading to bacterial infection and inflammation inside. In addition, it can also be caused by an accidental injury to the toenail while walking or playing sports, causing a wound in the soft tissue around it, and without proper care, resulting in infectious inflammation. In this case, you can choose conservative treatment or surgical treatment. Conservative treatment means strict local disinfection, external application of some antiseptic solution, commonly iodophor, and also topical application of anti-inflammatory ointment. If active surgical treatment is performed, the nail is usually removed from the flesh after local anesthesia of the toe, and then the infected tissue inside is thoroughly cleared so that it can be completely cured.
