How to put corneal reshaping lenses on your child

The fitting of corneal reshaping lenses in children needs to be done when the child is in good health and there is no discomfort in the eyes. Children with keratoplasty lenses, if they are young, it is recommended that the child be fitted by the parents, and they need to wear them every night before going to bed, under hygienic conditions and in accordance with a standardized procedure. First, the parents wash their hands with soap, dry their hands and then clean the keratoplasty lenses with care solution and saline. Then put the lens on the index finger of the right hand and put a drop of eye lubricant into the center of the lens. Holding the lens in place with the right index finger, the middle finger of the right hand points downward to peel back the lower eyelid, and the middle finger of the left hand points upward to peel back the upper eyelid of this eye. The right index finger snaps the lens onto the cornea. Release your hands when the lens is in place and allow the child to close his or her eyes naturally. After a few moments, open the eyes and check to see if the lens is centered on the cornea. If it is off or has large air bubbles, remove the lens with a suction wand and reapply. The next morning, after the child wakes up, one drop of eye lotion is applied to each eye, and the keratoplasty lenses are sucked in with a suction wand and removed. The removed lenses are cleaned and soaked in a care solution and worn again at night. It is recommended that patients who experience eye discomfort from wearing contact lenses should seek prompt medical attention to assess their condition and undergo treatment under the guidance of a medical professional.
