The common causes of painful lumps in the neck and throat include anterior cervical lymphadenitis, boils on the surface of the body, and sebaceous cysts with infections.
1. Anterior cervical lymphadenitis: Inflammation of the throat spreads to the lymph nodes outside the neck, causing inflammation of the lymph nodes, resulting in the appearance of small lumps with pressure and pain in the lymph nodes.
2. Body boil: It is an acute bacterial purulent inflammation of the hair follicles in front of the neck and its surrounding tissues, mostly due to Staphylococcus aureus infection. Boils involve only a single hair follicle and the surrounding tissues, and are associated with localized skin impurity, abrasion, poor excretion of secretions from the hair follicles and sebaceous glands, or lowered body resistance. It can be a small lump with pressure pain.
3. Sebaceous cysts with infection, small sebaceous cysts growing in the throat of the neck, mostly caused by sebaceous gland duct blockage. When bacterial infection occurs due to decreased resistance or poor local hygiene, the small lumps can be painful to press.
There may be other reasons for the pressure pain in the neck and throat with a small lump, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to find out the cause of the disease, targeted treatment.
