Exopathogens (1) Ephedra: belonging to the lung and bladder meridians, it has the effects of sweating and relieving the surface of the body through sweating, clearing the lungs and calming the asthma, and inducing diuresis and eliminating oedema. (2) Gui Zhi (桂枝): belongs to the Heart, Lung and Urinary Bladder Meridians, and has the effects of sweating and relieving the muscles, assisting yang to transform qi, calming and subduing qi, and warming the meridians. 2. Cough suppressants, phlegm suppressants and asthma suppressants (1) Semixia: belonging to the spleen, stomach and lung meridians, it has the effects of drying dampness and resolving phlegm (removing phlegm in the body with dampness-drying medicines), lowering the rebelliousness and stopping vomiting (preventing the upward flow of stomach qi, stopping vomiting), and eliminating lumps and dispersing knots. (2) Platycodon grandiflorum: belonging to the lung meridian, it has the efficacy of promoting the lung, expelling phlegm, inducing diaphoresis and draining pus. 3. Beneficent Medicine (1) Radix Codonopsis pilosulae: belonging to the Spleen and Lung meridians, with the effects of strengthening the spleen and lungs (strengthening the functions of the spleen and lungs), nourishing blood and generating body fluid. (2) Radix Panax Ginseng (北沙参), which belongs to the Lung and Stomach meridians, has the effects of nourishing Yin and clearing the Lungs (getting rid of Lung heat by nourishing the Lung’s fluids), and benefiting the Stomach by nourishing the stomach (nourishing the stomach by replenishing the fluids in the stomach).
